The boot is the mandatory starting pot all players contribute before cards are dealt. In highstakes variants the boot amount is set higher than casual tables, raising the minimum value of every round from the start.

A blind player bets without looking at their cards. In highstakes rooms the blind bet is typically half the current stake of a seen player, making it a higher-risk, higher-pressure position than in low-limit games.

A sideshow is a private card comparison requested between two adjacent seen players. The player with the lower-ranked hand must fold. Sideshow requests are only valid when at least three active players remain in the round.

Trail — also called set or trio — is three cards of identical rank. It ranks as the strongest hand in Teen Patti, sitting above a pure sequence. Aces form the strongest trail in a standard deck.

Three consecutive cards of the same suit — for example, 7, 8, 9 of spades. It ranks second in the hand hierarchy, just below a trail, and beats a regular sequence, flush or pair in a showdown.

Pot limit caps each raise at the current total value sitting in the pot. In highstakes rooms this can let the pot grow very quickly across rounds, which is why chip management matters more than in fixed-limit variants.
